Colorado to California quotes are estimated at $700 to $1,160. Road miles range from about 930 to nearly 1,400, so the destination matters: Southern California is the closer target, and San Francisco, Santa Clara and Stockton are farther. As always, the vehicle, timing and open or enclosed service shift the final number.
Examples from our route pages:
Pickups in Pueblo and Colorado Springs are on the southern edge of the Front Range, while Fort Collins and Greeley are farther north, and the difference can show up in the quote. Pickups from mountain towns with steep or narrow roads may need a meeting point nearby.

Most Colorado to California shipments need 2–3 days in transit, with Bay Area and Central Valley destinations occasionally taking up to 4. Pickup comes first, usually 1–3 business days after you book.
Timing depends on:
Pickup is usually scheduled within a 1–3 business day window after booking; transit then takes about 2 to 3 days.
Most cars bound for Southern California leave Denver on I-70 west through the Rockies and Glenwood Canyon into Utah. In central Utah the road meets I-15, which carries trucks southwest through St. George, Las Vegas and Barstow into the Los Angeles area, Orange County and San Diego. Cars for the Bay Area or Sacramento usually leave I-70 for US-50 or I-80 through Nevada instead. Colorado Springs and Pueblo loads may start with I-25 north to join the same corridor.
Ski season and summer mountain traffic can slow the stretch west of Denver on weekends, which matters if you are booking a pickup in Boulder, Arvada or Lakewood.
Fall and early winter see steady moves as people leave Colorado for milder weather, while summer is popular for relocations and job transfers.
An open carrier handles most Colorado to California moves and keeps the price low. For a classic, convertible or luxury car, or one you do not want exposed to mountain snow and road salt on I-70, enclosed transport is the better option. There are fewer enclosed trucks on this lane, so plan a few extra days.

While we expect carriers to deliver all vehicles without damage, accidents can happen. It is important for customers to inspect their vehicles upon receipt. If damage is noticed, customers should contact our office asap. Damage should be documented on the “Bill of Lading” received from the driver. If a report is not made in a timely manner we will not be able to assist you with the damage.

“I contacted Freedom Auto Transport under short notice and they delivered. Got my vehicle picked up in Dallas, TX the same day, it took about 3 days to get delivered. Driver contacted me prior to arrival on both ends and was very friendly. Very easy to do business with. Thanks again.”
“I wanted to share my experience dealing with Freedom Auto Transport. Could not have gone any smoother. Called up Tuesday morning, had my vehicle picked up and on a trailer the very next day! Wow! Everyone I spoke to at Freedom was extremely helpful and friendly. Very pleased with my experience and would 10000% recommend Freedom to anyone that needs auto transport service. Thanks again..”
“Freedom was great, Dan S. with Freedom was the only carrier who could deliver on the dates I needed. I contacted several transporters, the prices and dates changed every 5 minutes. Dan was very helpful every step of the way, and extremely reasonable! I will use these guys from this point forward, make one call and it’s a done deal! Thanks Dan!”
Freedom Auto Transport runs a solid operation. Dorian is the reason I chose this carrier even though I had all but agreed to work with a different hauler. He was fast to return my calls, texted frequently, and used all his contacts to arrange a quick turnaround on the 4Runner I shipped. He almost managed to get a same day pick-up but the dealership I was working with couldn’t complete the paperwork in time for an evening pick up. Easy paperwork/signatures. No heavy sales pitch. Just familiarity with how the industry works, good relationships to leverage, and the urgency to help. I think he really feels good knowing he’s helping to deliver something meaningful to others. Ive used different companies each time I’ve shipped a vehicle but the next time I need a car or truck shipped, I want to work with Dorian. Cheers!
