The exact cost is set by your two cities rather than by a flat state rate, so no figure is printed here. Enter your pickup and delivery points in the calculator and you get a number for that run; a manager can also review it with you.
On our routes, Michigan to Ohio distances range from about 202 to 357 miles, with the middle around 255. A few of the lanes customers book:
What else moves the quote: vehicle size and weight, whether the car runs, open versus enclosed, and how much room you give on pickup dates. Warren and Sterling Heights are close to Detroit, so they tend to line up with the same carrier stops.

Most Michigan to Ohio deliveries arrive in 1–2 days. Detroit to Columbus (202 miles) is a short drive that often finishes the same day it is loaded or the next one. Grand Rapids to Columbus, at 325 miles, is closer to the two-day end. Plan for a pickup window of 1–3 business days after you book.
A few notes:
If the date matters, say so when you book. A firm delivery deadline, such as a lease return or a start date at a new job in Columbus, is something the dispatcher can plan around, while a vague timeline leaves the car waiting for the next matching truck.
Pickup is usually scheduled within a 1–3 business day window after booking; transit then takes about 1 to 2 days.
The central corridor is I-75 south from Detroit toward Toledo, where carriers split. Trucks bound for Cincinnati and Dayton stay on I-75, while Columbus-bound loads usually take US-23 south, and the Cleveland and Akron deliveries follow the Ohio Turnpike east. From western Michigan, such as Grand Rapids and Lansing, drivers generally join I-96 toward Detroit or head south on US-127, then rejoin I-75 or US-23 near the state line.
Spring is busy for students and families relocating, and late autumn has the first real winter driving, so an early booking helps in both periods.
An open carrier handles most Michigan to Ohio shipments and is the normal choice for daily drivers. For a vintage car, a high-value vehicle or a trip in the salt season, enclosed transport keeps the car sealed from weather and road spray. It costs more and the schedule is a little tighter, so ask about availability when you book.
Request a fast, accurate car shipping quote by providing vehicle details, locations, and transport type (open or enclosed). We offer transparent pricing for door-to-door, cross-country, or expedited shipping—no hidden fees.
After booking, we arrange door-to-door pickup. A driver inspects your vehicle, then loads it using secure equipment. Choose open transport for cost savings or enclosed transport for extra protection. Tracking and updates are available throughout transit.

The route is 202 miles, so many deliveries are done in a day or the next morning after loading. Add 1–3 business days for pickup scheduling.
Yes. Warren to Dayton is 228 miles and Sterling Heights to Cincinnati is 284 miles, both normal runs down I-75 and finished in 1–2 days.
For this distance it can be, but fuel, a one-way ticket or a second driver and a day of your time add up. Shipping makes more sense for a second vehicle, a student car or a vehicle you want to keep off the highway.
Heavy snow or ice around Detroit, Lansing or Grand Rapids may cause a short delay. Drivers keep in touch, and a new pickup or delivery time is arranged with you.
A set of keys, the car with no more than a quarter tank of fuel and personal items removed. You and the driver will walk around the vehicle and sign a condition report.
Yes, we offer door-to-door auto transport, meaning the carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle as close to your specified locations as possible. In some cases, due to narrow streets or local restrictions, you may need to meet the carrier at a nearby location.
While we expect carriers to deliver all vehicles without damage, accidents can happen. It is important for customers to inspect their vehicles upon receipt. If damage is noticed, customers should contact our office asap. Damage should be documented on the “Bill of Lading” received from the driver. If a report is not made in a timely manner we will not be able to assist you with the damage.
All our carriers are fully licensed, insured, and vetted to meet federal and state regulations. We work only with professional, experienced transporters to ensure the safe delivery of your vehicle.
“I contacted Freedom Auto Transport under short notice and they delivered. Got my vehicle picked up in Dallas, TX the same day, it took about 3 days to get delivered. Driver contacted me prior to arrival on both ends and was very friendly. Very easy to do business with. Thanks again.”
“I wanted to share my experience dealing with Freedom Auto Transport. Could not have gone any smoother. Called up Tuesday morning, had my vehicle picked up and on a trailer the very next day! Wow! Everyone I spoke to at Freedom was extremely helpful and friendly. Very pleased with my experience and would 10000% recommend Freedom to anyone that needs auto transport service. Thanks again..”
“Freedom was great, Dan S. with Freedom was the only carrier who could deliver on the dates I needed. I contacted several transporters, the prices and dates changed every 5 minutes. Dan was very helpful every step of the way, and extremely reasonable! I will use these guys from this point forward, make one call and it’s a done deal! Thanks Dan!”
Freedom Auto Transport runs a solid operation. Dorian is the reason I chose this carrier even though I had all but agreed to work with a different hauler. He was fast to return my calls, texted frequently, and used all his contacts to arrange a quick turnaround on the 4Runner I shipped. He almost managed to get a same day pick-up but the dealership I was working with couldn’t complete the paperwork in time for an evening pick up. Easy paperwork/signatures. No heavy sales pitch. Just familiarity with how the industry works, good relationships to leverage, and the urgency to help. I think he really feels good knowing he’s helping to deliver something meaningful to others. Ive used different companies each time I’ve shipped a vehicle but the next time I need a car or truck shipped, I want to work with Dorian. Cheers!
