Oregon to California quotes tend to land from $490 to $980 (estimated). Almost every shipment starts in the Willamette Valley, so what moves the price is how far into California the car goes. Delivering in the Central Valley or the Bay Area costs less than finishing in San Diego, near the Mexican border.

Vehicle size matters as well: an SUV or pickup costs more than a sedan, and a non-running car adds a fee. Booking with flexible dates usually gets a better rate than asking for one fixed day.
Before you book, it helps to know what a quote covers: door-to-door pickup and delivery where a truck can legally park, carrier insurance, and a written condition report at both ends. Prices are estimates until a dispatcher matches your car to a driver, so share the exact cities, the vehicle and your preferred dates for the most accurate number.

From Oregon to California the road time is 2–3 days for 466 to 1,105 miles. Deliveries to Sacramento, the Bay Area or Fresno are closer to 1–2 days, while Southern California takes the full 2–3. Pickup is scheduled separately, normally 1–3 business days after booking.
Timing depends on:
Pickup is usually scheduled within a 1–3 business day window after booking; transit then takes about 2 to 3 days.
Southbound cars take I-5 out of Portland or Salem, climb through the Siskiyou mountains near Ashland, and descend past Mount Shasta and Redding into the Sacramento Valley. From Sacramento, trucks serving Fresno and Bakersfield switch to CA-99, and those heading to the Bay Area use I-80 or I-580. Southern California deliveries keep going down I-5 and over the Grapevine into the Los Angeles basin, with San Diego reached on I-5 or I-15.
Eugene and Salem departures are on I-5 already, while Hillsboro and Gresham pickups add a short run through the Portland metro first.
Many Oregon moves happen in summer and around the start of the school year. Shipping during late fall or winter can be easier to book, though mountain weather is a factor then.
For everyday vehicles an open carrier out of Oregon is the standard choice and the least expensive. If the car is a collector piece or freshly detailed for sale in California, enclosed transport keeps off rain, grit and road salt left on the mountain stretch. Fewer enclosed trucks serve Oregon, so book early.

Often yes, because Portland and the I-5 cities have more carriers. Smaller towns may need a meetup in Portland, Salem or Eugene.
Yes. Many customers book ahead and receive the vehicle in Los Angeles or San Diego a day or two after they land. Share the delivery contact and address when you book.
I-5 for almost the entire trip, through Medford, Redding and Sacramento, then over the Grapevine into the Los Angeles area.
Open is the normal choice. Enclosed makes sense for classic, exotic or newly painted cars, or when you want protection from winter mountain weather.
Yes, we offer door-to-door auto transport, meaning the carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle as close to your specified locations as possible. In some cases, due to narrow streets or local restrictions, you may need to meet the carrier at a nearby location.
While we expect carriers to deliver all vehicles without damage, accidents can happen. It is important for customers to inspect their vehicles upon receipt. If damage is noticed, customers should contact our office asap. Damage should be documented on the “Bill of Lading” received from the driver. If a report is not made in a timely manner we will not be able to assist you with the damage.
All our carriers are fully licensed, insured, and vetted to meet federal and state regulations. We work only with professional, experienced transporters to ensure the safe delivery of your vehicle.
“I contacted Freedom Auto Transport under short notice and they delivered. Got my vehicle picked up in Dallas, TX the same day, it took about 3 days to get delivered. Driver contacted me prior to arrival on both ends and was very friendly. Very easy to do business with. Thanks again.”
“I wanted to share my experience dealing with Freedom Auto Transport. Could not have gone any smoother. Called up Tuesday morning, had my vehicle picked up and on a trailer the very next day! Wow! Everyone I spoke to at Freedom was extremely helpful and friendly. Very pleased with my experience and would 10000% recommend Freedom to anyone that needs auto transport service. Thanks again..”
“Freedom was great, Dan S. with Freedom was the only carrier who could deliver on the dates I needed. I contacted several transporters, the prices and dates changed every 5 minutes. Dan was very helpful every step of the way, and extremely reasonable! I will use these guys from this point forward, make one call and it’s a done deal! Thanks Dan!”
Freedom Auto Transport runs a solid operation. Dorian is the reason I chose this carrier even though I had all but agreed to work with a different hauler. He was fast to return my calls, texted frequently, and used all his contacts to arrange a quick turnaround on the 4Runner I shipped. He almost managed to get a same day pick-up but the dealership I was working with couldn’t complete the paperwork in time for an evening pick up. Easy paperwork/signatures. No heavy sales pitch. Just familiarity with how the industry works, good relationships to leverage, and the urgency to help. I think he really feels good knowing he’s helping to deliver something meaningful to others. Ive used different companies each time I’ve shipped a vehicle but the next time I need a car or truck shipped, I want to work with Dorian. Cheers!
