A car going from Pennsylvania to Ohio typically costs an estimated $380 to $610. Our pickup cities here are Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, so the distance to the Ohio city sets most of the price. Vehicle type and dates matter too.
Examples from Philadelphia:
Cities in the northeast corner of Ohio, such as Akron and Cleveland, are the closest to Philadelphia and are estimated lowest. Pittsburgh pickups are shorter, so use the calculator for a figure based on your exact addresses. SUVs and pickups cost more than a sedan, and inoperable cars carry an extra fee.
| Route | Distance | Transit | Price estimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Philadelphia to Cleveland | 431 miles | 1 to 2 days | $374 - $534 |
| Philadelphia to Akron | 408 miles | 1 to 2 days | $354 - $506 |
| Philadelphia to Cincinnati | 573 miles | 1 to 2 days | $453 - $647 |
| Philadelphia to Columbus | 469 miles | 1 to 2 days | $407 - $582 |
| Philadelphia to Dayton | 540 miles | 1 to 2 days | $427 - $610 |
After pickup, the truck usually takes 1 to 2 days to reach Ohio. Pickup is booked 1–3 business days out, and a Philadelphia loading in the morning is often in northern Ohio by the next day.
What to keep in mind:
Pickup is usually scheduled within a 1–3 business day window after booking; transit then takes about 1 to 2 days.
Westbound carriers leave the Philadelphia area on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-76), climb through the Appalachian ridges, pass Harrisburg and Pittsburgh, then continue into Ohio, where the turnpike meets the Ohio Turnpike near Youngstown. From there Cleveland and Akron are close, while Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati are reached by heading southwest on I-70 and I-71, a longer drive.
Cars from Pittsburgh have a head start: the Ohio line is close, so western Pennsylvania pickups reach Ohio sooner than those from the Philadelphia side. Flexible dates make it easier to match your car with a truck on this lane.
Moving season peaks in summer. Winter weather adds uncertainty in January and February.
Because the lane is short, a flexible pickup window is the most useful thing you can offer. A driver already heading west from Philadelphia can often take your car with a day or two of notice, while a fixed hour on a fixed day narrows the options. Tell us if the car has a low front end, oversized tires or a roof rack, so the right truck is assigned from the start. Delivery in Ohio happens at your address or the nearest practical spot, so make sure someone can meet the driver and sign the report.
Most Pennsylvania to Ohio shipments go by open carrier, which is usually fine for a daily driver. If you are moving a collector car, a restoration project or a new vehicle you want to arrive spotless, enclosed transport protects it from road salt and spray. It costs more, so request it when you book.
Request a fast, accurate car shipping quote by providing vehicle details, locations, and transport type (open or enclosed). We offer transparent pricing for door-to-door, cross-country, or expedited shipping—no hidden fees.
After booking, we arrange door-to-door pickup. A driver inspects your vehicle, then loads it using secure equipment. Choose open transport for cost savings or enclosed transport for extra protection. Tracking and updates are available throughout transit.
Track your vehicle via eBOL. We deliver it to your chosen location, perform a final inspection, and complete the handoff. Safe, insured, and on-time delivery for any vehicle type.
Estimates run from $380 to $610. For example, Philadelphia to Cleveland is $374–$534, and Philadelphia to Columbus $407–$582.
Akron is the lower estimate ($354–$506), while Cincinnati is the higher one ($453–$647), because Cincinnati is further away.
They are neighbors, but road distances between our pickup and delivery cities run 232 to 573 miles.
Pickup is typically scheduled 1–3 business days after booking, and flexible dates make it easier.
Snow and ice can delay a truck on mountain stretches in winter. If delivery timing is important, book with flexible dates.
You or someone you trust should be there to sign the inspection report. If you cannot be, a friend or family member can do it for you.
Yes, we offer door-to-door auto transport, meaning the carrier will pick up and deliver your vehicle as close to your specified locations as possible. In some cases, due to narrow streets or local restrictions, you may need to meet the carrier at a nearby location.
While we expect carriers to deliver all vehicles without damage, accidents can happen. It is important for customers to inspect their vehicles upon receipt. If damage is noticed, customers should contact our office asap. Damage should be documented on the “Bill of Lading” received from the driver. If a report is not made in a timely manner we will not be able to assist you with the damage.
All our carriers are fully licensed, insured, and vetted to meet federal and state regulations. We work only with professional, experienced transporters to ensure the safe delivery of your vehicle.
“I contacted Freedom Auto Transport under short notice and they delivered. Got my vehicle picked up in Dallas, TX the same day, it took about 3 days to get delivered. Driver contacted me prior to arrival on both ends and was very friendly. Very easy to do business with. Thanks again.”
“I wanted to share my experience dealing with Freedom Auto Transport. Could not have gone any smoother. Called up Tuesday morning, had my vehicle picked up and on a trailer the very next day! Wow! Everyone I spoke to at Freedom was extremely helpful and friendly. Very pleased with my experience and would 10000% recommend Freedom to anyone that needs auto transport service. Thanks again..”
“Freedom was great, Dan S. with Freedom was the only carrier who could deliver on the dates I needed. I contacted several transporters, the prices and dates changed every 5 minutes. Dan was very helpful every step of the way, and extremely reasonable! I will use these guys from this point forward, make one call and it’s a done deal! Thanks Dan!”
Freedom Auto Transport runs a solid operation. Dorian is the reason I chose this carrier even though I had all but agreed to work with a different hauler. He was fast to return my calls, texted frequently, and used all his contacts to arrange a quick turnaround on the 4Runner I shipped. He almost managed to get a same day pick-up but the dealership I was working with couldn’t complete the paperwork in time for an evening pick up. Easy paperwork/signatures. No heavy sales pitch. Just familiarity with how the industry works, good relationships to leverage, and the urgency to help. I think he really feels good knowing he’s helping to deliver something meaningful to others. Ive used different companies each time I’ve shipped a vehicle but the next time I need a car or truck shipped, I want to work with Dorian. Cheers!
